Improving your Craft
This meeting is free and open to the public
Join us for
a workshop session for writers of all genres. Joyce Walters will discuss Stephen
King’s book On Writing. Ray Zimmerman will lead two activities for writers
wanting to structure their journaling experience and develop a journal as a
source of raw material useful for refinement into nonfiction, fiction, and poetic
works.
Ann
Robbins-Phillips is mother to five and Nana to eight. She is the
wife of Sam Phillips, the pastor of Daisy Church of God in Soddy-Daisy,
TN. She was born and raised in Middle Tennessee and traveled
with her husband in Evangelism for several years before settling
into pastoral work. An accomplished teacher, she teaches
series based upon her own devotional times and study of God’s
word. She is sought as a speaker for Women’s retreats
and conferences.
Writing has been Ann’s dream for many years and now that
her children are grown she has devoted her time to fulfilling
that dream. Ann writes Fiction, and meets with the group of
Writers for the Christian Market. She has finished one
novel and has three others in varying stages of development.
“I have finally arrived at the point that I will share
my writings with others,” Ann states. “Until
now, I lacked the confidence or nerve to submit my work for
review. I have the Chattanooga Writer’s Guild to
thank for providing a supportive environment for aspiring writers. It
is an honor to be a part of this caring group.”
