Improving your Craft
This meeting is free and open to the public
Join us for
a workshop session for writers of all genres. Joyce Walters will discuss Stephen
King’s book On Writing. Ray Zimmerman will lead two activities for writers
wanting to structure their journaling experience and develop a journal as a
source of raw material useful for refinement into nonfiction, fiction, and poetic
works.
Jeff Ballentine is 47 years old, married to his
wife of 11 years, Luanne, and together they reside in Ooltewah
with their two beautiful daughters, Emily, 8, and Mattie, 4. In
Jeff's professional life, the first 10 years were spent as a golf
professional and in latter years, sales and marketing positions
in healthcare, information technology and insurance have occupied
his time. Growing up in a family of avid readers, he learned the
joy of the written word quickly and has been a willing hostage
all these years. He is currently writing a novel with the working
title, Speed of Loneliness. He also
dabbles in creative non-fiction, telling the tales of his childhood
in the 1960's in a small farming community that hadn't heard Bob
Dylan's message that "the time's they are a changin'".
