Improving your Craft
This meeting is free and open to the public
Join us for
a workshop session for writers of all genres. Joyce Walters will discuss Stephen
King’s book On Writing. Ray Zimmerman will lead two activities for writers
wanting to structure their journaling experience and develop a journal as a
source of raw material useful for refinement into nonfiction, fiction, and poetic
works.
Bill Stifler teaches writing and mythology at
Chattanooga State Technical Community College. He writes short
fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry. He has published several
poems, including "Redeeming Time,"
which appeared in the 75th anniversary edition of Science
News and “On Writing” published
in Bridging English by MacMillan Press. Together with
a group of faculty and staff from Chattanooga State, Stifler helped
found the Academic Exchange Quarterly, an academic journal
devoted to the art and practice of teaching. From 1997 to the
spring of 2001, he served as copy editor of Chattanooga State’s
art and literary publication.
