Improving your Craft
This meeting is free and open to the public
Join us for
a workshop session for writers of all genres. Joyce Walters will discuss Stephen
King’s book On Writing. Ray Zimmerman will lead two activities for writers
wanting to structure their journaling experience and develop a journal as a
source of raw material useful for refinement into nonfiction, fiction, and poetic
works.
Helga Karin Kidder is a native of Germany’s
Black Forest. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors
in English: Writing, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
and a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from Vermont College in Montpelier.
In addition to her own writing, she translates contemporary
German poets and has a translation chapbook, Gravel.
Her poetry and translations have appeared in many journals.
She is married and has two daughters. She teaches English at
Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
A former CWG board member and leader of our independent poetry
group, Helga has just had poems accepted at Louisville Review
and The Pegasus Review.
