Join us for a workshop session for writers of all genres. Joyce
Walters will discuss Stephen King’s book On Writing. Ray Zimmerman
will lead two activities for writers wanting to structure their
journaling experience and develop a journal as a source of raw material
useful for refinement into nonfiction, fiction, and poetic works.
Award winning poet KB Ballentine will lead two creativity building
activities she has used with participants in her Open Mic Night
program. Sherry Poff will read an exemplary work by a Pulitzer Prize
winning author. This last can serve as a model for any writer developing
their craft.
The presentation by Joyce begins Writers’ Resource, a new
feature for our monthly meetings. Members are welcome to volunteer
to lead a short (no more than ten minute) discussion of a resource
that has proven valuable to them in developing their craft, learning
about writing opportunities, or publishing their work. The Writers
Resource presentation will precede the regular program. Any member
interested in giving a Writers’ Resource presentation at a
monthly meeting should contact Ray Zimmerman, Vice President (znaturalist@yahoo.com).
